Like all the arenas, Pepsi Center hosts concerts when it is not used as sport stadium. The playing place of both teams Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets before the building of Pepsi Arena was at McNichols Sports Arena.
Pepsi Center Arena was always a hub of big events like the Stanly Cup finals in 2001, the inauguration of Right Guard Open in 2010, and many other main events. Also, the arena hosted big political events like the convention of Democratic Party in 2008 in which the senator Barack Obama at the time made a speech at INVESCO Field.
One of the marking events of the Pepsi Arena history is the double booking controversy that rose in 2008 when a WWE event was booked to take place at the arena, and at the same time, another agreement was held that the game of Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers will take place the same date. And the owner Stan Kroenke stood firm that Nuggets event would take precedence though theres a contract between WWE and arena, and only a verbal agreement given to Nuggets.
